This was a really great book, i have two chapters left. John asked Savannah if she had ever thought about getting married or having a long term relationship, because John got a call from the army saying that he wanted John to come back. This put john in a very sticky situation because he cant choose between the army and Savannah. John didnt tell her for a couple weeks not because he didnt want her to know but because he was scared she was gonna leave and never talk to him agian. Im gonna read the last couple pages to figure out what happens. Will John leave to go back to the army or will he stay with Savannah?!

So after Savnnah and John talk for a couple hours they get really close, the opposite of what John wanted to happen. John isnt really the dating type but he feels there is something about Savannah that he doesnt want to let go. They have a great night hanging out by the fire and they get to know alot about eachother. Savannah had to go with her group the next day to help start on there first house. John woke up and went surfing. A few days went by and finally John got a call from her, they went to the ocean and John tought Savannah how to surf. John thought about inviting her over to meet his dad but he didnt know how is father would react. He decided to bring her over for dinner one night, Johns dad didnt act much different and didnt start conversation but it went pretty well. Ofcourse he brought up his coin collection, not something she really wanted to talk about but she acted like she enjoyed it. Im gonna keep reading to find out what Savannah has to tell Jonn, she wont exactly say yet but im exited to find out!

I am on chapter three. When John gets older he goes into the army for about four years, then they let hom come home for the summer. On Johns visit back home he meets a girl named Savannah at the beach. He doesnt want to get attatched because he knows he is going to be back in the army soon enough. In their conversation Savannah mentioned she was just visiting Wilmington to help buil houses. John spends most of his time at the beach with Savannah and tries to stat away from home as much as possible because his dad hasn't changed one bit and is only ever worried about his coin collection.

I chose this book because i saw the movie and i really liked it so i decided to read the book, which so far is a lot better than the movie. So far its about a boy named John who now feels lonely because the only thing his dad ever wants to talk about is his coin collection. John and his dad used to be really close unti he got older and grew out of alot of things, now john is more interested in sports and hanging out with friends.
